Organized by physical chemist Chong Fang and Juntos Statewide Coordinator José García, we have successfully held the Third Annual Juntos Chemistry Overnight Camp (JCOC) on the beautiful OSU Campus from June 29-30, 2019. Twenty-two Latino high school students (7 girls and 15 boys) attended the JCOC this year from Corvallis, Newport, McMinnville, Portland, Redmond, Madras and Coos Bay throughout the State of Oregon. This year's summer camp was jointly funded by the Chemistry Department and Fang’s NSF CAREER grant, with additional support from the College of Science.

Several campers returned from last year, and we kept them all engaged, entertained, and excited. Kudos to my assistants Taylor, Sean, Travis and Jose, who made the camp such a welcoming and inspiring event. More details can be found in the July 18 news article published in the OSU COS iMPACT magazine "Third annual Juntos Chemistry Camp sparks STEM ambition in high-school students", as well as the OSU Open Campus news article "Juntos Chemistry Camp 2019!".

Best wishes to all, and we look forward to the fourth JCOC next June!
