We had a wonderful time organizing The 2nd Annual Juntos Chemistry Overnight Camp (JCOC) at OSU Chemistry on June 23-24, 2018! Great to have 22 high-school Latino students from across a wide geographical region in Oregon, including Dayton, McMinnville, Madras, Hood River, Newberg, and Philomath. We appreciate the kind help from faculty, staff, and graduate students at Department of Chemistry (Mike, Margie, Chris, Kristi, Miles, Taylor, etc.), College of Science (Matt), OSU Open Campus and the statewide Juntos Program (José García in particular), as well as funding from NSF CAREER grant (C. Fang) and OSU PreCollege Programs.

Check out the news article written by Katharine de Baun at the College of Science for this event: http://impact.oregonstate.edu/2018/07/high-school-students-envision-their-future-in-stem-at-juntos-chemistry-camp/

Till next, and looking forward to the 3rd JCOC!
